Future Creatures: Reimagining Wildlife in a Changing World HALF DAY (Elementary-K-6)

Does your child love animals and imagining the future? In Future Creatures, campers will combine creativity, science, and technology to explore how climate change might shape the animal kingdom over thousands of years. This challenge is perfect for young scientists, artists, and storytellers who want to dive into the wonders of evolution, ecosystems, and adaptation in a fun and engaging environment.

Camp Highlights:

  • Design with a Scientific Twist: Campers will study a vertebrate animal living in tropical rainforests and imagine how it might adapt to a changing world.

  • Hands-On Creation: Kids will bring their ideas to life by crafting clay models of their animal and building a habitat to reflect its future environment.

  • Digital Storytelling: Using Google Slides, campers will create a presentation featuring their illustrations, models, and ideas for their animal’s survival.

  • Stop Motion Animation: Campers will animate the journey of their future animal adapting to its evolving habitat using stop motion techniques.

What Campers Will Learn:

  • Environmental science concepts, including climate change and adaptation.

  • Creative techniques in drawing, modeling, and animation.

  • Digital storytelling and presentation skills.

  • Collaboration and problem-solving in a fun, supportive setting.

Campers will leave with a clay model, a stop motion animation video, and a Google Slides presentation showcasing their animal’s transformation—a unique keepsake of their learning and creativity!

The Full Day and Half Day camp options for the SCF Imaginarium Enrichment Adventures are designed to accommodate different schedules and levels of engagement.

  • Full Day Camp (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, $299/week): This option provides a more immersive experience for children, allowing them to participate in the full range of activities, including structured play, lunch breaks, and additional hands-on experiments. The extended hours give campers more time to delve deeper into the weekly themes, engage in STEAM activities, and work on longer, more complex projects. The full-day experience is perfect for those who want to maximize their learning and creative time.

  • Half Day Camp (8:30 AM – 11:30 AM, $229/week): The half-day camp focuses on the core content of the camp, offering the same exciting learning experiences, hands-on activities, and creative projects as the full-day option. However, it runs for a shorter duration and does not include additional extensions, experiments, or structured playtime. This is an ideal choice for families who need a shorter day or for children who may prefer a more focused, compact schedule.

Both options provide a fun, educational experience, but the Full Day camp offers more time for extended learning and exploration, while the Half Day camp provides a more condensed version of the same enriching activities.

Spaces are limited and filling up fast—don’t wait! Reserve your child’s spot today for an unforgettable summer of exploration and creativity inspired by NASA and SpaceX challenges, with a unique artistic flair during “Creating with a Twist.”
